Tamiflu (oseltamivir) is a prescription antiviral medication that can be used to treat influenza infections (the flu) in children and adults, if their symptoms have started within the last day or two before starting to take Tamiflu. It can also be used to prevent the flu in children, teens and adults who have been exposed to the influenza virus.
Also this drugs is thought to be effective against the Bird Flu, leading some countries and individuals to create stockpiles of Tamiflu.
Using prescription:
Tamiflu should be started as soon as possible after a child develops flu symptoms, and at least within two days, or as soon as possible after you have been exposed to someone with the flu, if you have not had a flu shot.
Take oseltamivir every 12 hours for 5 days. To prevent flu symptoms: Take oseltamivir every 24 hours for 10 days or as prescribed. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Take this medication for as many days as it has been prescribed for you even if you begin to feel better.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If your next dose is less than 2 hours away, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
If you think you have overdosed, seek emergency medical attention.
Symptoms of an oseltamivir overdose may include nausea and vomiting.
Before using Oseltamivir you should discus with your doctor all your health problems. Tell your doctor if you have received a nasal flu vaccine within the past 2 weeks, or if you have kidney disease; heart disease; lung disease any other serious health problems.
This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether oseltamivir passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not take this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Do not give this medication to a child younger than 1 year old.
Side effects of this medicine:
- Stop using this medicine and get emergency help immediately if any of the following side effects occur;
- Phlegm producing cough;
- Wheezing;
- Rare;
- Abdominal or stomach cramps or tenderness;
- arm, back or jaw pain;
- bloating;
- chest pain or discomfort; chest tightness or heaviness;
- diarrhea, watery and severe, which may also be bloody;
- drooling; facial swelling;
- fast or irregular heartbeat; fever;
- hoarseness;
- humerus fracture (broken forearm); increased thirst; pain; shortness of breath; tender glands of jaw and throat; unusual tiredness or weakness;
- unusual weight loss.
Other
side effects not listed above may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your doctor.
Remember! Keep this and other medicine you are using, out of a reach of children.

Zoloft is available in capsule and oral concentrate forms. To prepare Zoloft oral concentrate, use the dropper provided. Measure out the amount of concentrate prescribed by your doctor and mix it with water, ginger ale, lemon/lime soda, lemonade, or orange juice. (Do not mix the concentrate with any other type of beverage.) Drink the mixture immediately. At times, a slight haze may appear after mixing, but this is normal. Improvement with Zoloft may not be seen for several days to a few weeks. You should expect to keep taking it for at least several months. More common side effects may include:
Abdominal pain, agitation, anxiety, constipation, decreased sex drive, diarrhea or loose stools, difficulty with ejaculation, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, gas, headache, decreased appetite, increased sweating, indigestion, insomnia, nausea, nervousness, pain, rash, sleepiness, sore throat, tingling or pins and needles, tremor, vision problems, vomiting .
